Lancet artikel In 2001 publiceerde Pim van Lommel in het gerenommeerde medische tijdschrift The Lancet over zijn onderzoek naar bijna-dood ervaringen. De studie werd verricht onder de verantwoordelijkheid van de Stichting Merkawah, IANDS Nederland, tegenwoordig Netwerk NDE ( Nabij-de-Dood Ervaring). In 2017 was het al meer dan 630 maal geciteerd in wetenschappelijke artikelen en boeken.
